home boiler services
A boiler that is failing, noisy or costing more every winter is worth sorting out before the cold arrives. We are Gas Safe registered (No. 986242) and install and replace gas boilers in homes across Surrey and Dorset. Tell us about your heating and hot water and we'll call you back to talk through the job.
Signs it may be time to replace your boiler
A good-quality boiler that is well maintained and serviced every year should last 10 to 15 years. Beyond that, some keep going, but repairs get more frequent and more expensive, parts get harder to find and the boiler gets noisier. A rising gas bill can also point to a boiler losing efficiency.

Why efficiency shows up on your bill
The oldest boilers, rated G, are less than 70% efficient. Every new gas boiler sold in the UK today is at least 90% efficient. That means a new boiler turns far more of the gas you pay for into heat.
Here is the working. The Ofgem price cap from 1 October to 31 December 2026 averages 7.97p per kWh of gas, including 5% VAT. At 90% efficiency, each kWh of heat costs about 7.97 ÷ 0.90 = 8.9p. At 70% it costs 7.97 ÷ 0.70 = 11.4p, which is about 29% more gas for the same warmth. These are rated efficiencies, not guarantees, and your real figures depend on your home, your controls and how the system is set up.

There is no law requiring you to replace a working gas boiler in an existing home. A Department for Energy Security and Net Zero spokesperson has said the government will not force anyone to rip out a working boiler. Policy can change, so we keep up to date and will tell you if anything affects your choice.
